This week when I headed to my local library, I walked out with so many books about the 5 senses that I had to get my husband help me carry them to the car. I wanted to make sure I had a couple books for each of the senses: touch, taste, sight, hearing, and smell and I definitely accomplished my goal.
Before you go out any buy a bunch of new books, check your local library. You will probably find all these books and more. BUT, I did make an Amazon List of all the books for you to easily find any books you want to grab for your own 5 senses week.

My circle time book for the day was “The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog” by Mo Willems. In the book, Pigeon finds a delicious hot dog and before he can devour it, a sly duckling comes into the scene asking lots of questions about the taste.
Obviously we have to eat some yummy treats to learn about the sense of taste! I figured a Jell-O taste test would be easy for me and something the kids would actually eat!

While I only do 1-2 read alouds each morning, I love to keep books out for when we need a quiet moment or the kids want some alone time! You really can never have too many books around!
